How it works
1) Choose which type of bag(s) you'd like – see What can I order for more info
2) Choose your collection point – there are 14 all around Hackney
3) Then you set up a direct debit to pay monthly
4) Every week we’ll deliver your bag(s) to your collection point for you to pick up
The bags are available to collect from either Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the collection point. See More about our collection points for details of the addresses and opening times.
Don’t forget to collect!
Most pick-ups are open until Friday or Saturday. After that, we make sure any leftover veg is put to good use, by donating it to homeless charities and other food projects, such as NLAH.
Get your extras
On Wednesday evenings two of our larger collection points, The Old Fire Station and Hackney City Farm have delicious extras on sale like bread from E5 Bakehouse and occasional other items such as eggs and extra seasonal produce.
We ask people to sign up for a regular weekly bag to provide a stable, guaranteed flow of money for our farmers and for us. It helps them plan what to plant and decide how much to harvest each week.
If you're on holiday or cannot pick up your bag, we ask for one week’s notice to cancel your bags. Better still, get a friend to pick up your bag and try our veg for a week. (Our payment system assumes you will take a certain amount of holiday every year, so you don't need to stop and start your payments every time you go away: see our holiday policy on the FAQ page.)
When you get bags from us, you become a member of Growing Communities, able to have a say in how the organisation is run, come along to the AGM and decide who should be on the Board.
How do I join?
Once you’ve filled in our joining form, we will contact you and ask you to set up a monthly direct debit through our Go Cardless account. (Please check your email junk folder if you don't hear from us.) When we have received confirmation of your payment, we'll let you know when you can start to collect your weekly bags.
