Swede braised in cider
Ingredients
- 250g swede, peeled and cut into large chunks
- 200ml cider
- 1 chicken stock cube (or vegetable if preferred)
- 50g sultanas
- 1 tbs sesame seeds
- pinch chilli powder
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 50g cheddar, grated, to serve
Method
Place all the ingredients except the cheese into a saucepan. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the swede is tender. To serve, place into a serving dish and sprinkle over the grated cheese.
