We are building up a regular volunteer team at our Dagenham Farm - you can volunteer with us every Wednesday from February to December and drop-in to the farm every Sunday from March to the end of October. It's a great way to find out more about growing food using organic techniques, improve your growing skills or just get a bit of exercise in the fresh air. And volunteers can take part in a tasty shared lunch on Wednesdays too.
When: February to mid December: EveryWednesday 10am to 3pm. NB: the first volunteering session of 2018 will be Wednesday 14th February - a Valentine's special!
From March 2018 to end October 2018:EverySunday drop-in session 11am to 3pm. We also sell plants and produce at the farm on Open Farm Sundays.
How: Any new vounteers for the Wednesday sessions must attend an induction on the farm at 11am. If you miss this slot we'll ask you to come back the following week. Once you've completed the induction you are welcome to volunteer with us for the full day, 10am to 3pm, in future weeks. You can drop into the farm on Sundays for as long or as little as you like between 11am and 3pm. Please make sure to wear sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing. Please note seasonal opening dates.
Who: Everyone is welcome to volunteer but any volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Where: Growing Communities Dagenham Farm, Luke Allsopp Square/Central Park Nursery, Rainham Road North, RM10 7EJ. The farm is signposted from Luke Allsop Square and from Central Park, opposite the Rugby Club.
