We have lots of regular volunteers at Dagenham Farm but we are always looking for more people to come and grow with us. You can volunteer with us every Wednesday from March to the end of October. It's a great way to find out more about growing food using organic techniques, improve your growing skills or just get a bit of exercise in the fresh air. And volunteers can take part in a tasty shared lunch on Wednesdays made from farm produce.
When: March to October: Every Wednesday 10am to 3pm. If you'd like to be reminded when volunteering starts again, please email us and we'll add you to our Dagenham mailing list (we won't inundate you, we promise). Or you can sign up for Growing Communities' regular weekly emails (covering all our activities, news, jobs, recipes etc) at the bottom of this page.
How: Any new vounteers for the Wednesday sessions must attend an induction on the farm at 11am. If you miss this slot we'll ask you to come back the following week. Once you've completed the induction you are welcome to volunteer with us for the full day, 10am to 3pm, in future weeks. Please make sure to wear sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing. Please note seasonal opening dates.
Who: Everyone is welcome to volunteer but any volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We have bee hives on the farm. Our bees are working hard making honey, but if you have a bee allergy please let our staff know before you visit the farm and bring your epi-pen with you.
Where: Growing Communities Dagenham Farm, Luke Allsopp Square/Central Park Nursery, Rainham Road North, RM10 7EJ. The farm is signposted from Luke Allsop Square and from Central Park, opposite the Rugby Club.
We look forward to welcoming you to the farm.
